Kristen Jones and company have a fresh take on hosting a feature film on TV. This is where forgotten films are given new life. It's a magical thing. Be sure to check it out.

Tuesday  - 8:00pm
Thursday - 6:00pm
Saturday - 6:00pm
Sunday   - 10:00am & 10:00pm

Who are these guys?

Kristen Jones – Kristen is the host and creator of “Spunky Bowl of Noodles”.  Her love of bad movies dates back to when she was a young child growing up in San Jose, CA.  Late at night, she would sneak into the living room and hide behind the couch to watch the late night show “Creature Features” hosted by the legendary host Bob Wilkins.  As she grew up, she chose to continue her late night adventures and would stay up till unholy hours to watch whatever terrible movies the local UHF stations had to offer.  While her friends were talking about the latest John Hughes film, Kristen would talk about the latest Bert I. Gordon film she saw on T.V. the night before.  It’s a wonder she had any friends at all.  Now she’s bringing her love of stinky movies to you.  And since most of these movies are too hard to bear by themselves, she has added a few treats during the show.  Don’t be surprised if during the show you also see old cartoons, classic commercials, or sketches involving drill sergeants, Christmas fairies, or gorillas.

Gorilla - This character is a mystery wrapped in an enigma.  He is in every episode, but who is he?  Where does he come from?  How does he keep his coat so glossy and shiny?  If only we had the answers to these questions, but unfortunately, we don't.  We just let him do his thing and try not to rile him.

Jan-Erik, Erik, and Tait Jones – These three men of the Jones’ family are Jacks of all trades.  They have all been at one time or another cameramen, boom operators, script consultants, and actors for the show.  Not many people have their wives/moms yell out, “Does anyone know where the googly eyes are?  I need to make a broccoli monster”.  And yet, they handle it with grace and dignity.  When they are not helping set up shots, they are living a quiet life in Buena Vista.  All three are involved in karate.  Erik is a black belt and Jan-Erik and Tait are both green belts, so don’t get any funny ideas.

The Dransfield Family – This family has been featured in most of the “Spunky Bowl of Noodles” episodes.  They have been responsible for such characters as the Drill Sergeant in “Body Care and Grooming”, Curly in “Spooks Run Wild”, and the Christmas Spirit in “Santa Clause Conquers the Martians”.  You have also seen them in “Monster Zero” and “Giant Gila Monster”.  Scott Dransfield was the musical talent on both “Giant Gila Monster” and “Body Care and Grooming”.  When they are not putting together their costumes for the show, they are performing in their bands “Scotty and the Beamers” and “Rock Mutt”.

Chris Buhler – Chris is the reason we were able to pull off “Spunky Bowl of Noodles”.  He has been with us from the start as a cameraman and editor.  Chris had his own public television show back in Colorado during his high school years and was able to give much needed advice on how to pull off the show.  As an added bonus, his wife Emily is a theatre minor at Southern Virginia University and was the Emo Godmother on “Body Care and Grooming”.  Chris and Emily are seniors at Southern Virginia University and are expecting their first child.

And the rest – Because of the nature of the show, the cast of characters is constantly changing.  Each episode is unique, as is the cast.  We have had Mark Cline from Natural Bridge’s Haunted Monster Museum guest host for our Halloween show.  The acapella group “The Fading Point” performed for us for our Christmas episode. We’ve also had college professors, high school students, and various residents of Rockbridge County participate as a variety of characters.  If you are interested in participating in a future episode, make sure to join our Facebook page to get updates on casting calls.
